Yes, we're still in school this week in Massachusetts, thanks to that lovely ice storm that kept us out of school from December 12 through Christmas break. The last day is this Thursday. Thankfully it's not hot this week.
My daughter Julia and I were browsing through Michael's a few weeks ago, and she came upon a little pamphlet for these cute little pots made with chalkboard paint. We thought they would make fun teacher's gifts to give out this week during their last week of school. We try to remember everyone, right down to the bus driver. So we set out to make a bunch of these, and here's the end result. They are stuffed with green paper grass, an eraser and chalk.
Julia and Sara are writing personal notes on the back of theirs. Adam went for a simpler "Thank you" version on his pots. It was fun making these. Julia now has this craft written down in her "idea book" that she keeps for when we move and she gets to redecorate her bedroom. She wants to make colorful chalkboard pots to keep on a shelf, labeled with fun words, and stuffed with all of her goodies.
Still here
